Nassar out of hospital after falling off wall
Published on: 10/7/08.

Businessman Muhammad Nassar is recuperating at home after taking a hard fall from a high wall two Sundays ago.

The 68-year old builder was picking pears at his Sheraton, Christ Church home when his feet became entangled in some vines and he fell off the 15-foot wall.

He landed on a plastic pipe near the ground and suffered "tremendous pain".

No limbs were broken but later his stomach became swollen and "tight like a drum" and "stopped functioning", he reported.

Nassar was treated at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital over a number of days, after which the swelling as well as the pain and discomfort eased.

"We have some of the best people in the world working at the QEH," he told the DAILY NATION. "No queen or prime minister could [have been] treated better than I was treated at the hospital; and I don't think it has anything to do with my name."

Nassar said he believed his survival had something to do with God's plan for him.

"I am not just convinced God has a plan for me," he remarked. "I know God has a plan for me."

Nassar recalled that he was a virtual cripple at age 25, months after his wedding, when he was floored by what he said turned out to be acute arthritis and rheumatic fever.

With help from the late Rameses Caddle and other doctors, he was fully recovered by age 27, Nassar recalled. (TY)
