Some got out of band
Published on: 8/5/08.
POLICE had a challenging time yesterday keeping revellers behind the ropes as they jumped along Station Hill towards Bank Hall.
Several masqueraders came from their formations to "have a good time" with some of the onlookers who had lined the route.
The lawmen had to get the DJs on the music trucks to frequently remind those jumping that they needed to stay within the ropes.
This action took place as the merrymakers jumped from the National Stadium to Spring Garden before an appreciative crowd of onlookers.
However, there was major concern in the early part of the parade when onlookers complained about how far apart the bands were going down the road.
Another issue raised by onlookers was that although the music was pulsating, some band members were very staid. (MM)
